Course Description:

'' This course will provide you with in-depth knowledge of the technology and processes of drilling, completing and operating wells in a variety of environments for oil and gas exploitation. You will develop a broad understanding of the reservoir structure, its properties and performance, through studies in petroleum geology and geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering. You will learn basic drilling practices and be progressively introduced to more advanced drilling technology and operational practices. This knowledge will give you a thorough understanding of modern techniques in well design including well control, directional well planning and implementation, horizontal and multilateral wells, and equip you to resolve drilling problems such as stuck pipes, losses, etc.

Your studies in production technology will give you an introduction to well performance and remedial and artificial lift technologies. You’ll explore issues regarding the design and installation of completions, workover operations and planning. To ensure you are fully equipped to step into your chosen career, you will also learn key project management and contracting skills, incorporating health, safety and environmental provisions and policies as an integral component to this work. ...''
