Course Description:

'' Overview Managing the performance of others is an ongoing cycle of planning with people what they are to achieve, helping them with their day-to-day activities, reviewing their performance, and collaboratively revising what they are doing and helping them to meet required outcomes as well as ensuring they develop as people.

The manager is the key component in the effective management of people and of people performing as required. The manager needs to help staff to understand what is expected, to plan, to achieve the agreed outcomes, and to develop as team members. At different times the manager may need to be a disciplinarian, a role model, a comforter, a cajoler, a manager and a leader. To develop an effective team, managers also need to be the coach, and chief supporter of their team members.
