'' This course provides guidance and information about financial services reform in Australia. It is an overview of the regulatory environment as it affects those who interact with customers of Australian Financial Service Licensees.
It may be undertaken prior to enrolment in the Diploma of Financial Services, which upon completion of the Diploma attain PS/RG146 training qualifications. The course is conducted online, over a period of 3 hours and is assessed through 30 multiple choice questions to establish that students have achieved the course objectives.
Attention is focused on educating those employees who are not authorised to provide personal advice with the laws and regulations associated with the Financial Services Reform Act. Students should gain a clear understanding about how to identify when personal and/or general advice is being sought or provided and how to deliver information on financial services without providing personal advice.
On completion students will receive a āStatement of Attendanceā?that may assist them with further vocational study of the Diploma of Financial Services.
Generic product training may also be incorporated into the course as required including life insurance, general insurance, managed funds, superannuation, securities and consumer credit. ...''
