Course Description:
'' Obtaining the Instrument rating is the next logical step in taking aviation to the next level.
This rating enables you to explore aviation from a brand new perspective. It is an excellent tool for developing greater proficiency and self-confidence. As you will be able to fly in more adverse weather conditions, you will have greater flexibility in choosing destination points.
Prerequisite:
Private Pilot License
Category 3 Aviation Medical
50 Hours Pilot in Command Cross-Country
Structure:
Flight lessons are scheduled to reflect the need and timetable of the individual student.
Instrument Ground School scheduled consecutively two evenings per week. (40 hours over 8 weeks)
Written exams are completed at the Transport Canada office in Calgary.
Flight exams are scheduled and completed at Excel Flight Training Incorporated.
Course completion:
Students receive an Instrument Rating after completing a minimum of 40 hours additional flight time and passing the required written and flight exams.
The 40 hours flight time must include the following:
- 40 hours Dual instrument instruction including 1 dual instrument cross-country.
