Course Description:

'' Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting serves three groups of students:

accounting graduates seeking further academic qualifications
graduates requiring additional subjects to qualify for admission to CPA Australia or to the CA Program administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA)
non-Australian residents seeking an Australian qualification.
The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting draws subjects from the Master of Accountancy degree (for subjects needed to satisfy the academic requirements of CPA Australia or ICAA) and from the Master of Commerce (Accounting) degree.

Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting

The Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting is designed to provide accounting graduates with the knowledge and skills required to be competent in professional accounting. By building upon previous undergraduate studies in accounting, the course provides students with a greater depth of knowledge and a critical perspective of contemporary accounting issues.

A unique feature of the course is the integration of postgraduate studies with the CPA Australia program. Students are required to complete four postgraduate subjects while concurrently completing four subjects of the CPA Australia program.

Master of Commerce (Accounting)

The program allows students to integrate postgraduate academic studies with professional studies required for membership of CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA). This may be achieved in one of three modes:

Mode 1 - By concurrently studying the CPA Program in conjunction with Master of Commerce subjects; or
Mode 2 - By claiming credit for completed professional subjects in the CPA or CA Programs, or by studying all Master of Commerce subjects; or
Mode 3 - By combining coursework with a research dissertation.
The course aims to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills required to be competent in professional accounting and to develop skills in critical analysis of current issues in accounting theory and practice.
