'' In this course you will explore professional and ethical practice in community health nursing. You will develop the key skills needed to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary health care team. You will also learn to integrate principles of primary health care into practice to maintain optimal wellbeing of the individual, family and community. We’ll teach you how to effectively analyse the environmental, physical and psychosocial aspects of the individual, family and/or community and use this knowledge to determine and plan the health care needs within a community practice setting. You will also explore principles of cultural security, advocacy and social justice and learn to integrate these into your nursing practice.

Your learning will be supported through clinical practice at a community agency under the direction of an experienced community health nurse.
