Course Description:

'' The Leadership & Management Program supports learners on their journey as whole healthy human beings able to offer effective leadership to their people and their communities. The Journey begins with self transformation and growth, grounded in traditional Indigenous knowledge, and introduces learners to leading edge contemporary leadership and development wisdom aligning with Indigenous experience and philosophy

This unique program includes options for a certificate, diploma or degree designed and offered by Blue Quills. Students may also be eligible for a block transfer into an AU degree after completion of the Blue Quills Diploma (75% average required). Certificate and Diploma program courses are also individually transferable to Athabasca University, University of Alberta, University of Lethbridge, and University of Calgary. Blue Quills will also assist students who wish to transfer to other institutions on an individual basis.

The Leadership & Management Program is open to people of all cultures and offers courses from an Indigenous perspective, inviting students to develop critical thinking skills and knowledge from diverse fields, including core business and management skills, and leadership approaches. Programming addresses the human dimensions of the student: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, and incorporates traditional knowledge and contemporary experience in a wholistic model. The delivery model incorporates the teachings of the natural law and students are supported in personal as well as academic growth. Participatory action and discovery learning methods ensure learning is anchored in experience.

The flexibility in program scheduling, including potential for modular programming, allows for team building and departmental training for professional development, as well as for people currently employed to enhance skills and knowledge. This option invites direct and immediate application of learning while maintaining responsibilities at work, contributing to organizational and community growth and advancement. Students prepare for supervisory, managerial, and leadership positions in general and Indigenous self-governing environments, as well as in small business and the corporate world.
