Course Description:
'' The Preventive Dentistry Program (PDP) provides Registered Dental Assistants (RDA’s) with the advanced training required to perform the restricted activity of limited dental scaling as outlined by the Health Professions Act (HPA). This is done under the supervision and direction of a dentist or dental hygienist at Columbia College. Following successful completion of the Preventive Dentistry Program the student will be able to register with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA) for inclusion of the expanded duty of limited scaling to their scope of practice.
