Course Description:
'' Airline pursers and flight attendants ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during flights. Flight attendants greet passengers, explain safety procedures, attend to the safety of passengers during take-offs, landings.
Flight attendants and airline pursers may work at night, on weekends and during holidays. They can spend 75 to 85 hours a month on flights and a similar number of hours carrying out duties in preparation for flights, waiting for planes that arrive late, and writing reports and carrying out other post-flight duties. It is expected that tourism, along with services provided by pursers and flight attendants, will experience strong growth in the years leading up to, during, and right after the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The impact of this event should be felt throughout the province of BC. Field trips, videos and practical training on in-flight equipment will enhance classroom lessons. ...''
