'' This is an advanced professional qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages. It is suitable for teachers wishing to upgrade their qualifications and may be taken at two levels: an introductory level for those with limited previous experience of TESOL, or a more advanced level for those with more than three years of practical TESOL experience. Graduates with appropriate pre-service teaching qualifications are qualified for employment in all TESOL sectors.

Course structure
The course has a total of 120 credit points, made up of six, 20-credit point subjects. It covers a range of areas relating to TESOL including the nature and structure of written and spoken English, teaching methodology, materials design and curriculum, and intercultural communication. A course adviser assists with the selection of study units to suit individual needs. Content also includes an optional twenty-two days of supervised language teaching practice. Most TESOL employers in Australia, including schools, require candidates to have successfully completed a practicum requirement.
