'' Students from non-IT backgrounds gain specialised skills and knowledge in this course, in the areas of data communications and networks, networks and systems security, network design and network management, application protocol, protocol and network engineering, and wireless networks. The combination of core and specialised subjects prepares students to work in network administration areas. Students may complete the degree entirely by coursework, including an industrial team project, or undertake a minor thesis in the area of computer networks, if they wish to continue their research to PhD level.
