'' Martier’s Nail Technician Program is designed to produce highly skilled and motivated professional Nail Technicians dedicated to quality of service to the customer. The course will be taught using a combination of theory, self-study, and hands-on practical training. Students will be taught the necessary skills based on the following curriculum.

Client Consultation:
�The purpose of a client consultation. �The appearance of healthy nails. �Why knowing a client’s lifestyle is helpful in making decisions about products and services. �When is it necessary to refer clients to a physician. �The information that should be gathered on the client health/record card.
Manicuring:
�The equipment, implements, materials and cosmetics needed for a manicure and explain what they are used for. �The basic table setup. �The four basic nail shapes. �The steps in the pre-service procedure for a water manicure. �The proper procedure and precautions for a water manicure. �The five types of polish application. �The proper procedure and precautions for the reconditioning hot oil manicure. �The proper procedure and precautions for the reconditioning in a paraffin treatment. �The steps in a man’s manicure. �Your ability to perform hand and arm massage properly.

Nail Wraps:
�Proper procedure for repairing damaged natural or acrylic nails
Acrylic Nails:
�The supplies needed for acrylic nail application. �Chemistry of acrylic nails. �Proper procedure and precautions for the application of acrylic nails over forms. �The safety precautions for applying primer. �Proper procedures and precautions for the application of acrylic nails over tips. �Proper procedures and precautions for acrylic nail application over bitten nails. �Application of acrylic on toenails (optional) �Two basic types of maintenance for acrylic nails. �Proper procedure for removing acrylic nails. �How the application of odorless acrylics differs from the application of traditional acrylics.
Gels:
