'' This course will guide the beginner steel-string guitarist through the exciting experience of learning the world’s most popular instrument. Students will learn the proper techniques involved in playing everything from pop and rock music to folk and traditional classical melodies. Students also learn to read music and understand the basics of music theory and how it relates to the guitar. Prospective students will need a guitar, footstool and the required text: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1. All other materials will be provided by the instructor.
