Course Description:

'' Our Parent-Child courses take you far away from school and work, practices and meetings, and provide you with 4 or 8 days of uninterrupted adventure. The result? An opportunity to get to know each other better while building trust, cooperation and one-of-a-kind memories. You¡¯ll also share your experience with a diverse group of families from across the country.



Backpack through Pisgah or Nantahala National Forest. Use a map and compass to explore an ancient mountain range. Celebrate after a steep hike up a mountain pass. Set up camp using Leave No Trace minimum-impact techniques, and team up to cook a backcountry meal. Listen to each other¡¯s goals and aspirations. Work as co-leaders for the day to facilitate group activities.



Build trust as you belay each other up a steep rock face. Start out bouldering. Then move on to more challenging climbs. Cheer each other on in the face of challenge. Gain skills for knot tying, belaying and rappelling. Weather permitting, the four-day course includes one day of rock climbing and the eight-day course includes up to three days of rock climbing.
