'' This course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, gives health professional the attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary to provide preventive health services to reduce the health impact of disease and injury resulting from workplace and community factors. The course comprises of eight core units: introduction to occupational health & safety, chemical & biological hazards, psychosocial work environment, safety management systems, assessment & control of workplace hazards, environmental health risk assessment & management, critical appraisal of occupational health & safety information, ergonomic & physical hazards. The course caters for the special needs of medical practitioners, nurses, allied health personnel, scientists and OHS managers. The course articulates with the Master of Occupational and Environmental Health or can lead to the Master of Public Health. Students are required to complete compulsory block requirements each semester. ...''
