Course Description:
'' This course provides workplace professionals with the skills and knowledge to prevent and manage occupational health problems. This degree provides you with the skills necessary to evaluate health problems in communities thought to be associated with industrial activities. It is particularly suitable for medical practitioners, nurses, allied health personnel, scientists and occupational health and safety managers. Most of the course is offered by off-campus learning, with compulsory block requirements each semester. The program comprises ten core units and two electives. Core units cover assessment and control of workplace hazards, introduction to occupational health and safety chemical and biological hazards, ergonomics and physical hazards, psychosocial work environment, safety management systems, environmental health risk assessment & management, critical appraisal of occupational health & safety information, research methods, introductory biostatistics. Elective units cover a minor project or two other MPH units. ...''
