Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online/Live | On-site/In-house | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' This course is a common core of the Accounting Management program, and focuses on Bookkeeping and MS Office and Managerial Accounting. The course will be useful to those who wish to work in businesses requiring substantial amounts of bookkeeping and related tasks to be operationally efficient. The Managerial Accounting is a comparable equivalent of a CPA course, and therefore transfers to the Certified Payroll Manager Certification, while Bookkeeping transfers to the Payroll Compliance Certification course requirements of the Canadian Payroll Association.
Graduates may find employment in government offices, municipal offices, accounting firms, accounting departments of both large and small businesses, insurance and real estate firms, and office support positions in a wide variety of businesses.
Entry-level accounting clerk technicians post details of transactions, total accounts, and compute interest charges. They may also monitor loans and accounts, to ensure that payments are up to date. Accounting clerks verify records of transactions posted by other workers. They check figures, postings, and documents to ensure that they are correct, mathematically accurate, and properly coded. They also correct or note errors for accountants or other workers to adjust. Courses covered in this program include Organizational Behaviour, Bookkeeping and Managerial Accounting. These courses are comparable equivalents of the Canadian Payroll Association’s (CPA) courses, and are transferable to the PCP and CPM qualifications of the CPA. For this reason, graduates will be eligible for professional membership of the Canadian Payroll Association either as a PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) on successfully taking and passing three other required courses (within each certification) of the Canadian Payroll Association. Graduates of this program may find employment as payroll clerks, supervisors or managers; bookkeepers; accounting clerks; and auditing clerks. Some could continue their accounting education elsewhere. ...''
