Course Description:
'' This course focuses on pathogens borne by blood such as HIV and Hepatitis. It also covers the transmission of other micro-organisms and precursionary measures to prevent their transmission. These measures include sterilization and disinfection, isolation procedures, vaccination of health care workers, management of biohazardous waste and safety practices. The course also focuses on specimen sorting, checking for adequacy and appropriateness, accession (data entry), allocating, configuration, packaging and transportation of dangerous goods and WHMIS. Here too, students will receive training in Basic First Aid. ...''
