Course Description:
'' In the past decade the rules of the music business have changed enormously, and now more than at any time in history creative artists have the power to control the creation and distribution of their work. Whether you play a ¡°traditional¡± instrument or are a singer, DJ, producer or rapper, the six-month (30 credit) NASM-accredited Recording Artist Program trains you to use cutting-edge digital technology to bring your musical vision to life. Experienced instructors guide you through the complete creative recording process from songwriting, arranging, recording, and production all the way to marketing and promotion. Produce finished tracks combining live vocals and instruments with samples and loops, then build a website where you can offer them to the world. As an RAP student you also receive a weekly private lesson on the instrument of your choice as well as access to MI¡¯s wide range of elective classes, workshops and seminars (see All-School Electives for elective choices, and certain electives from other MI programs are also available). If you want to learn how to survive as an independent artist in today¡¯s music industry, RAP is designed for you.
