'' As a Columbia Academy Broadcast Arts School and as a Broadcast Performing Arts student, you’ll do the actual jobs done by today’s broadcast professionals.
Through our unique educational approach, designed for individuals considering a career in the radio, television or associated industries, Columbia Academy school graduates are trained and experienced. You’ll learn not only the skills required for work in broadcasting, but will also develop the communication abilities and professional standards the television, sports and radio broadcast industries demand.
During your Hands-On 10-month Broadcast Performing Arts training program you’ll be working in a genuine radio station environment. Columbia Academy’s two in-house campus radio stations provide 600 HOURS of realistic, relevant On-Air experience.
When we say Hands-On, we mean Hands-On!
You’ll be ’On the Air’ from your very first day at our Broadcasting school! You’ll develop skills from Day One as an On-Air Personality, in news & sports writing & delivery, in commercial production, copy writing, programming, music direction and much more. You’ll also develop an understanding of the wide range of business aspects within the industry, and you’ll learn from the best with our Broadcasting school faculty.
Columbia Academy’s Broadcast Performing Arts instructors have years of broadcasting experience under their belts. In fact, many of them continue to work in the industry while teaching. You won’t get more industry-relevant training anywhere!

We also regularly bring in Guest Speakers from the television, sports and radio broadcast industry and supplement the training program with workshops, tours of professional broadcast facilities in the Vancouver area, and in some instances, offer the opportunity to job-shadow a professional.
