'' Gateway College is pleased to offer the LPN Access course starting in September of 2009. This full-time course will run for a total of ten months and upon successful completion, students will be ready to take the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE). This course is designed to train students who are currently RCA/LTCA certified and wish to upgrade their credentials.

The LPN Access course has been divided into three semesters and each semester is followed by a clinical placement, practicum and/or preceptorship related to the course material. The first semester has been designed to bridge students from RCA/LTCA into LPN, building upon the curriculum previously taught in these courses. The first semester also includes a biology component which allows for the inclusion of students who may not have Biology 12. Preparation for the CPNRE has also been built in to provide our students with the resources and tools needed to write the exam.
