Course Description:
'' Teen Camp is an intensive course designed for secondary school students with a passion for photography. This week is a crash course in digital capture and image processing designed to give students a taste of what intensive photographic study entails, to develop technical skills and to spark creativity and innovation. Come armed with a camera and your imagination!
1 Introduction to Digital Photography at VanArts
Camera orientation, Exposure, White Balance and
Composition demo/workshop. Slide Show.
2 Alphabet assignment. The group heads out to find and capture every letter of the alphabet in abstract shapes found in the urban environment.
3 Light Painting. We open up the studio to the group and encourage maximum creativity and innovation as they literally paint with light. In the afternoon students are introduced to Photoshop basics.
4 Fashion Photography. We bring in models, make up artists stylists and photographers to guide the students through a full day fashion shoot.
5 Photoshop and Printing. Students edit their images from the week and learn how to work with them in photoshop to create a final print.
Every emerging teen photographer will get their own custom print and a slideshow of the group’s work at the end of the week.
