'' This is a first course in programming using C/C++. It also addresses the basics of operating systems and their role in the development process introducing UNIX.This course lays a foundation and presents an overview of the compile process, the development process, and the relationship between software and the hardware that runs it.The emphasis is on solving real-world problems in the UNIX environment.

Topics include: overall structure of C/C++, expressions, control statements, arrays, characters and strings, functions, pointers, file manipulation, operating system introduction; and design techniques such as top-down, refinement, pseudo code and flow charts.
