'' Do you like working with people? The Medical Office Assistant program is designed to provide you with the medical, clerical, and communication skills necessary to start a career as a member of the health care team in a medical office. This course is a 30 week diploma program offered during the day and includes a co-op placement.
The 225 hours of co-op placement combined with 24 weeks of classroom instruction ensures you graduate with confidence and a familiarity with the use of medical terminology, office procedures, microcomputer applications, customer service and related skills. Common job titles for students obtaining employment after graduation include: medical office assistant, dental office assistant, medical secretary, medical transcriptions, receptionist, and medical billing clerk.
