Course Description:
'' Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing method involving gentle touch which helps to restore balance in our life. Reiki promotes a sense of well-being by allowing our body/mind/spirit to come to a place of deep relaxation where our natural ability to heal is revitalized. The current practice of Reiki was initiated by Japanese healer, Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. Reiki, which simply stated means universal life force energy, is easy to learn and to use. Reiki is given by the gentle laying-on of hands in a systematic set of positions. The Reiki Practitioner acts as a conduit for the energy, which flows through them to the client. A Reiki session can help to strengthen our nervous system, calm our minds, relieve stress and diminish the tension and discomfort in our bodies. It is a wonderful compliment to other healing modalities, both traditional and alternative. Reiki helps us to become more responsible for the well-being of our life and allows us to participate more fully in our own healing process. The ability to use Reiki is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master/Teacher through a process thereby making it possible for anyone to learn Reiki. This process opens energy centers called "chakras" in the crown of the head and the palms. This creates a special link between the recipient and the Reiki source. Over the years, I have created an intensive, hands on, therapeutic version of Reiki Levels that intertwine the spiritual with the therapeutic, and, as a practitioner, rely heavily on the point of view of a new practitioner. I do feel it is important to learn how to heal oneself as well as those around you and so we start from the roots up.
