Whether your goals are for a closer-knit management team or to promote better relations within your youth group, team building is designed to show people how to work together in a setting outside their natural environment. What is teambuilding?
--Teambuilding activities aim to enhance a groups ability to work together, to effectively communicate, to collectively solve problems, to foster a sense of empathy and respect for other team members, to provide honest and useful feedback, to resolve conflict, and to build a community that will remain intact after returning home.
--Teambuilding can be defined in many different ways and can be accomplished utilizing a wide variety of methods. At Asheville Outdoors, we believe it is critical to take participants out of their normal setting and challenge them with activities that push them outdside of their comfort zone.
--Our teambuilding courses use fun and interactive games and challenges to help build a sense of community. However, perhaps the most important element of teambuilding is the reflection, feedback, and discussion facilitated by our staff after the completion of activities. This element is missing from many teambuilding workshops, but it is our primary focus at Asheville Outdoors because research has shown that without it the effectiveness is seriously diminished.


Why do we do teambuilding?
--Many researchers have studied this question in depth and most of there conclusions answer this question in one way - BECAUSE IT WORKS!
--The hands on nature of our teambuilding activities allow participants to become immersed in the challenge and not even realize that they are engaged in a learning process. The relationships and community formed even in a short teambuilding session are easily transferred back to the real world.

When and where is the best time?
--Our teambuilding events can be facilitated any time of the year and in almost any location. We have activities that can take place indoors or outdoors and can range from an afternoon to a week long event. Many groups have made teambuilding events an annual occurrence because it is a fun learning experience that everyone can be involved in.

How much does it cost?
--Since all of our teambuilding events are carefully designed to meet the needs of your group, the cost can vary greatly. Give us a call to discuss the needs of your group and we will find a way to make it a cost effective addition to your activities.

Our facilitators are prepared to handle any size group, from five to one hundred employees. We work closely with the Blue Ridge Assembly YMCA to provide you with both outdoor and indoor facilities, creating the option to enjoy the weather or hide from the elements. What better way is there to train your employees than to bring them out of the normal work environment and into the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains?
