Training Course:Primary school coursesSchool/Trainer:Plas Gwynant Outdoor Education Centre Caernarfon, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' Courses that we organise for primary schools usually run from Monday to Friday, effectively with 3 full days of activity, and either one or two half days on the Monday and Friday. The centre is equipped to provide these courses to pupils in years 5 and 6. Courses tend to be very much an introduction to outdoor activities, with a mix of canoeing, abseiling, hillwalking, orienteering and some beach exploration. The emphasis is, as always, towards working together to complete the various activities. This fits in well with the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2 P.E. as part of the Outdoor and Adventurous Activities module.
Plas Gwynant staff organise activities for 3 of the evenings as well, giving visiting members of staff some time to relax. These courses have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and both pupils and staff go home tired but satisfied.
