Training Course:Cisco CCNA LAN SwitchingSchool/Trainer:JER Group 56 Seabreeze Way, United States
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' In this unit, you will learn about the history of networking and communication. The unit covers the Data Link sublayers, Logical Link Control (LLC), and Media Access Control (MAC). The LLC sublayer uses the connectionless and the connection-oriented services that bridge the MAC sublayer to the upper layer protocols. The MAC address is added to a frame at the MAC sublayer. The unit also covers various types of LAN technologies such as Ethernet, Token Ring, and Fiber Data Distributed Interface (FDDI). Ethernet is a LAN technology that allows any directly connected device to transmit on the network. The Token Ring incorporates a unidirectional token and FDDI has a dual ring architecture and uses token passing in a network. In this unit, you will identify the need for LAN segmentation and its benefits. Outcomes: Upon completion of this unit students will know, understand and be able to explain The history of networking and communication, Data Link sublayers, Logical Link Control (LLC), and Media Access Control (MAC), the MAC sublayer to the upper layer protocols, various types of LAN technologies such as Ethernet, Token Ring, and Fiber Data Distributed Interface (FDDI), the need for LAN segmentation and its benefits. Assessment: Students are presented with pre-course test to determine their knowledge before taking the course. During the course students will be presented with a series of quizzes to determine gained knowledge and retention of each section. At the end of the course students will be given a post course test to measure their overall understanding of the subject and retention of knowledge. By comparing their pre and post course test scores, students will be able to measure their knowledge gain. Course Information (see above or below lessons, outlines, activities, etc.): Course Outline:
