'' PowerBuilder 9.0 enables you to build the next generation of Web applications that can be accessed from anywhere and integrated easily with disparate architectural frameworks using XML. Examine these new technologies and their integration with PowerBuilder applications, including XML Web services, simple object access protocol (SOAP), Web services description language (WSDL), UDDI, and .NET. Learn how to communicate with Web services in a PowerBuilder program or form a Java Server Page (JSP) created in PowerBuilder, and how to use the Web Services Toolkit provided with Enterprise Application Server (EAServer) to expose your PowerBuilder NVOs as Web services. Discover how business logic deployed as .NET or Web services can be used in PowerBuilder clients as easily as distributed functions. Course Objectives : Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: Create XML documents from Database Retrievals using DataWindow and DataStore technologies Import or export ML data using a custom template Interpret and manipulate XML data from PowerScript Create a WSDL for a Web Service Access a Web Service from a PowerBuilder client Access a Web Service from a Java Server Page in a JSP Target Access a .NET Service from a PowerBuilder client Course Topics : Creating XML documents ¨C the foundation for e-business communication; describing data using DTDs and schemas; using cascading style sheets and XSL to control the display of XML documents; using PowerBuilder XML DataWindow painter techniques; scripting the XML DataWindow from PowerScript; interpreting XML in PowerScript using the PBDOM custom classes; understanding Web services architecture; building PowerBuilder custom classes to be used as Web services; finding Web services with the UDDI registry; using PowerBuilder as a consumer of Web services; creating a JSP in PowerBuilder that consumes Web services; and accessing .NET services in PowerBuilder applications.
