'' Learn to use PowerBuilder 9.0 to build and deploy a fully functional two-tier application using object-oriented programming techniques and application portioning to meet the business requirements of a case study. The proven techniques presented in this course will help you get started on your projects more quickly and effectively. Explore targets, workspaces, application DataWindows, user objects and menus. Use object-oriented programming techniques such as inheritance to build and use class hierarchies to create windows, menus, and user objects. Through the use of PowerBuilder non-visual objects (NVOs), learn encapsulation for information hiding and how to partition an application to separate business rules from both interface and database logic.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Use the PowerBuilder 9 IDE to create:
Targets, Workspaces, Applications, DataWindows, Windows, User Objects, and Menus
Use these Object-Oriented Techniques:
Inheritance to build and use case hierarchies to create Windows, Menus and User Objects. Encapsulation for information handling.
Partition an Application by separating business rules from both interface and database logic and PowerBuilder NonVisual Objects (NVOs)

Introduction to the PowerBuilder IDE: building a window; scripting; object orientation in PowerBuilder, NVOs, database painter, DataWindow objects (building the result set (SQL) and enhancing the report), connecting to the database, transaction objects, MDI applications, menus, using DataWindows controls, DataWindow internals, modify, insert, and delete, saving data to the database, delivering the completed application, and an introduction to n-tier programming and the web.
