'' Examine in detail the inner workings of Sybase Enterprise Portal (EP) security. Learn how to implement Sybase EP security in a variety of scenarios, customize any portal application to suit specific business security requirements, and integrate existing security architectures with Sybase EP security. Integrate with an LDAP server or digital certificate authentication server, or provide a single sign-on (SSO) to multiple back-end servers, each with its own respective authentication requirements. Learn how to utilize SSO from any type of portal client, implementing fine-grained access control for secure assets of the portal, manage user accounts for greater password security, and configure security auditing for your purposes. Examine user authentication and fine-grained access control from a variety of portal clients, including IIOP clients (Java Servlets or EJB components), traditional Web clients, and Portal Interface clients.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Explain how authentication would be implemented by EP (given a specific client type and architectural requirement)
Explain how you would provide access control for secured assets of the portal from a variety of client types
Implement J2EE role based access control
Provide SSO capability using the Proxy Authentication
Explain how SSO can be implemented using either the Secure Web Proxy or Secure Business Objects
Configure the Enterprise Portal for LDAP authentication
Install and configure:
Secure Web Proxy
Web Server Plug-in
Redirector Plug-in
Use the SMAPI to provide self registration capability for a traditional web client
