'' Become familiar with the tools and environment enhancements of the new e-Biz Impact 5.3 release for the UNIX and NT server environments. Hands-on labs are conducted in the NT environment with multiple references to implementation for UNIX users. Examine development migration and project management tasks, and study a new component-based architecture that gives greater flexibility in designing your environment. Examples of how to migrate from an Impact 4.x environment to an Impact 5.3 environment give you practical experience that you can apply to your own environment. Course Objectives : Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: Migrate your own Impact environment from Impact 4.x to e-Biz Impact Identify and use the new features of e-Biz Impact Work through the migration paths to successfully upgrade from Impact 4.x to e-Biz Impact and understand the detail involved in setting up your migration project Identify the differences between Impact 4.x and e-Biz Impact and understand the enhanced features of e-Biz Impact Use anew data manipulation feature of e-Biz Impact to convert a data stream to XML-ready data, enabling you to integrate your e-Biz Impact environment with other XML-enabled applications and possible web interaction Understand how e-Biz Impact can be integrated with other systems with the use of open transport technology Course Topics : Overview of Impact 5.3, discussion of the structure of the new environment, Impact Manager (replaces BSM), the continuing roles of SFM, TRAN-IDE and MSG-IDE, modification and expansion of the Object Definition Language (ODL), the new configuration GUI ¨C e-Biz Impact Configuration authenticating portal users, authorizing access to secure assets of the portal, log files ¨C old and new, monitors (based on the Microsoft Management Console), new features and obsolete features, bridging both worlds ¨C Impact Manager to BSM, and known problems areas.
