'' Learn to write partial or complete abstract query plans, understand how to tune the optimizer and 3rd party applications. This ensures that the quickest access path method can be used every time. Writing your own plan will help the system to be fully optimized whenever retrieving data. You can force the optimizer to use the proper access route even if the statistics are updated and accurate. Abstract plans create a persistent, readable, and editable description of the optimizer and avoids query plans that perform poorly. You will see the impact of abstract plans on stored procedures, ad-hoc queries, and system administration, as well as using system-stored procedures to manage and maintain abstract plans.
