'' Securing data while moving from client to server or from server to server is a major issue in a database environment for administrators and system security officers. Learn about network security issues in general and how Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) database software is configured to provide secure client/server and server/server communications. ASE 12.5 supports two mechanisms for communication security: Secure Socket Layer and Kerberos. These mechanisms and how to configure ASE to use them, data integrity, generating and viewing a digital certificate, and confidentiality are discussed in detail.
