'' Get a hands-on, in-depth look at Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE). Examine relevant internal data structures and practical troubleshooting techniques. Learn to diagnose and prevent potentially disastrous situations, optimize your use of the features of ASE for normal administrative tasks, perform mission-critical administrative tasks for efficiently, improve system performance for end users and troubleshoot disaster scenarios for data recovery. Course Objectives : Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: Create a new ASE server and perform post-installation security tasks Describe ASE connectivity and implement balanced network and port utilization with fail-over safety Describe the mechanics of database and table allocation/de-allocation Use DBCC commands to detect and resolve table fragmentation, allocation, and linkage problems Configure ASE to obtain maximum performance for index creation and for bulk copying of data Perform effective backups, and troubleshoot dump, load and recovery problems Rebuild a damaged database with up-to-the-minute data Rebuilt the master device and database without a backup Course Topics : Dynamic reconfiguration, using advanced installation techniques, troubleshooting connectivity problems, extending ASE using component integration services, managing physical devices, analyzing object allocation, managing table fragmentation, using dbcc to check consistency and to detect and resolve table fragmentation, allocation, and linkage problems, improving performance of bulkcopy and create index, troubleshooting database dumps and loads, and recovering from non-master device failures, recovering from master device failures. Optional modules include accessing remote servers and remote objects.
