Course Description:
'' Presented on behalf of UNICOM Seminars by Ian Prodin fo Sianti, who are the APMG accredited trainers for this event
In the present competitive environment a properly implemented structured project management approach is necessary to organise, plan and control all business undertakings. This event provides those responsible for planning and managing projects with a structure which will help them without imposing too great an overhead, or stifling creativity.
Who Should Attend The event is suitable for any organisation or individual seeing the need for a controlled approach to managing its projects, including; Project Managers,Project Support, Team Members from any discipline.
The PRINCE2 method is flexible and adaptable for any type and size of project, and offers an excellent management foundation for any member of staff; no prior Project Management knowledge is necessary. Benefits of Attending: Following the course, delegates will be able to organise, plan and control projects quickly and effectively in accordance with the PRINCE2 Methodology. Senior management will be able to make decisions on project initiation and continuation on the basis of hard facts provided in a structured format.
The course is a mixture of input and practical sessions, delivered by an APM Group Approved Trainer with practical experience of PRINCE2. Practical sessions will be on an individual and team basis focusing on the Foundation and Practitioner Examination. Course Structure Pre-course Reading There is some pre-course preparation requiring approximately 15 hours study. The material is supplied as a computer-based course which can be used on any PC with a web browser.
Connection to the internet is not required. The pre-course material covers the differences between line management and project management followed by an overview of the PRINCE2 method.Self-test material is included.
Overview Our course covers four days from Monday -Thursday followed by examinations on the Friday. Formal training lasts from 9.00am -6.00pm each day with home study and revision exercises. We provide detailed training material since the PRINCE2 manual is intended as a reference book and does not by itself provide a sound basis for studying the method. There is an integrated case study to provide a firm basis for discussion and understanding of the method.
Examinations Attendees on this course will also have access to an eLearning version of the PRINCE2 Foundation course. This will be in addition to the training material provided as part of our standard accredited course material and will supplement our accredited course timetable which will be followed. Sample examination questions are introduced throughout the course at an appropriate time.Candidates are encouraged to take the PRINCE2 Foundation on Thursday afternoon. The Practitioner examination can be taken on the Friday, alternatively candidates may prefer a short period (about two weeks)of further study before taking the Practitioner examination. If this option is taken there are series of assignments which can be submitted to Sianti for marking throughout the revision period. ...''
