Training Course:Balanced Scorecard and Strategy Maps: An Introduction to these Management toolsSchool/Trainer:UNICOM London, Uxbridge, Middlesex, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' To manage business performance you need to understand where your organisation is, where it is going and what needs to be done to get it there. Without a performance management and measurement system it is impossible to address these three fundamental issues.
Objectives Performance measures not only enable executives to track whether the organisation they are managing is moving in the right direction; measures are also an important motivator and strongly influence peoples behaviour. Performance measurement systems can be used to align peoples action with the organisations strategy. What gets measured gets done.
As a result measures are proving to be a powerful means of translating strategy into action and ensuring that all action is strategy focused. However, the strength of the Balanced Scorecard is also its weakness - get the implementation wrong and your organisation moves into the wrong direction. This is why it is vital to understand how to create a scorecard that works.
The latest data suggests that over 60% of the largest US firms are using measurement frameworks, such as the Balanced Scorecard, to manage their performance. This workshop is designed to explain the background, rationale and benefit of Balanced Scorecard and will be an introduction to this popular management tool. Participants will learn about the four perspectives of the Balanced Scorecard: Financial Perspective Customer Perspective Internal Processes Perspective Innovation and Learning Perspective Furthermore, delegates will learn about how to create a Balanced Scorecard and how to ensure the link with strategic objectives. This will enable you to translate your strategy into actionable and measurable objectives. The workshop will cover the development of strategy maps as powerful tools to visualise and communicate strategic direction.
Finally the workshop will cover how organisations can implement the Balanced Scorecard successfully and how to avoid pitfalls and steer around obstacles.
Bernard Marr will explain how to make better use of the performance data organisations collect and address how Balanced Scorecard software application can help with this process. Many organisations spend too much time collecting data but not enough time extracting valuable insight from the data.
