'' This course Introduce students to the diversity of the global hospitality industry. Each chapter presents an overview of the scope of the hospitality industry within a particular country, then explores major human resource issues as practiced in that country. Contributing authors offer informed perspectives on topics that include labour market issues, legal and political environments, societal work values, and corporate cultures.

Evaluation: The student must complete fourteen basic, self-scoring review quizzes, four progress tests, and a comprehensive final examination.

Learning Objectives: At the completion of this course, students should be
able to:
1. Describe China’s tourism and hospitality industries and the impact that China’s
"reform and opening" policy has had on the country.
2. Discuss the main characteristics of the Egyptian hospitality labour market and
the future of the hospitality industry in Egypt.
3. Identify the main forces that have contributed to the development of the French
hospitality industry.
4. List social and legal issues affecting the Greek hospitality labour force.
5. Summarize Ireland’s employment statistics and labour market issues.
6. Discuss the unique conditions of the Israeli labour market and its hospitality
industry.
7. Describe the attitudes of Jamaican workers toward tourism and jobs within the
hospitality industry.
8.Explain the human resources management process as it relates to hospitality
operations in Kenya.
9. Describe the challenges facing human resource managers in Korea, including
Westernization, globalization, and Korea’s changing political and economic
climate.
10. Identify the cultural influences and societal work values that affect hospitality
workers in Lebanon.
11. Explain how the legal and political environments affect the hospitality industry
in Malta.
12. List the factors that have led to the success of Mauritius as a tourist
destination.
13. Describe human resources business practices in Mexico.
14. Summarize the unique aspects of Dutch society that have contributed to the
development of the Dutch tourism industry.
15. Identify the historical, geographical, political, and socio-economic factors that
have affected Romania’s development.
16. Explain human resource regulations in Russia.
17. Outline major hospitality education and training practices in Scotland.
18. Summarize the history of the Swiss hospitality industry.
19. Describe Turkey, the Turkish economy, and tourism in Turkey.
20. Discuss how the human resource function fits into the organizational structures
of hospitality businesses in the United States.
