'' CSI is a five-day, leader-led, lab-intensive task-oriented course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to implement and use the principles and axioms presented in the SAFE white papers for Small, Medium & Remote User (SMR). Enterprise, IP Telephony and Wireless LAN networks on specific devices. The primary focus is on the labs, which allow the students to build complete end-to-end security solutions using SAFE SMR as the blueprint. The configuration and functionality of the following devices in a SAFE SMR network are described in detail: IOS Routers, PIX Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, Cisco IDS Sensors, Cisco Security Agent and the Cisco VPN Client. Basic implementation of SAFE wireless LAN is also covered.
Course Objectives After completing this course the student should be able to:
Identify the functions of the key modules and devices in a small, medium, remote and enterprise network Identify the specific threats to the small, medium, remote and enterprise network Describe the mitigation roles of Cisco devices in a small, medium, remote and enterprise network Implement specific configurations to apply the mitigation roles in a small, medium, remote and enterprise network Recommend alternative devices that can fulfill the same mitigation roles in a small, medium, remote and enterprise network Overview of the technologies and architecture involved in building a SAFE IP telephony network and SAFE wireless LAN Identify the functions of the key modules and devices in an IP telephony network and SAFE wireless LAN Identify the specific threats to an IP Telephony network and wireless LAN Describe the mitigation roles of Cisco devices in an IP telephony and wireless network Intended Audience This course is intended for delegates who require the knowledge and skills needed to implement end to end security solutions using the SAFE Small, Midsize and Remote-User blueprint.
Engineers who support sales of Cisco VPN and security product solutions. Cisco Channel Partners who sell, implement and maintain secure networks. Cisco customers who implement and maintain secure networks. Prerequisites Certification as a CCNA or the equivalent knowledge. Certification as a Cisco Security Specialist 1 or at least six months practical experience configuring Cisco routers, PIX Firewalls, Cisco IDS Sensors, and VPN Concentrators. Competency in using the Windows NT operating system. Familiarity with implementing network security policies and the following networking concepts: Perimeter security system components: perimeter router, firewall, bastion host Servers: syslog server, web and FTP servers IPSec concepts: IKE, IPSec, encryption, authentication, CA servers Certification This course is recommended as preparation for exam:
