'' The objectives of this Java course is to provide the necessary skills to enable the development of Technical Staff to enhance their skills in order for them to become proficient Java Programmers. The course will address all of the necessary topics to facilitate this and will enable the development of Java applets and applications. This course will cover all aspects of Java programming from an introductory level right through to a strong standard of Java programming. The Java programming course will teach from scratch or refresh existing knowledge by focussing on the Java language and Object-Oriented principles.
Working in a hands-on environment, developers will:
Understand not only the fundamentals of the Java language, but also it¡¯s importance, uses, strengths and weaknesses
Understand the basics of the Java language and how it relates to OO programming and the Object Model
Learn to use Java multi-threading and exception handling features
Understand and use classes, inheritance and polymorphism
Develop GUI applications using AWT and Swing
Use Java for client-side applets, networking and communication applications
Use the JDBC API for database access
Suitable for
Programmers or Software developers with little or no prior knowledge of the Java programming language.
IT managers and software architects who need to deploy applications on a Java platform
Prerequisites
Some programming or scripting experience
Delivery
This is a hands-on practical workshop based around the development of fully working Java services. Strong emphasis is laid on practical exercises and worked examples.
This course is now available at least once a month on a publicly scheduled basis (see below) and on a in-house basis for company groups. Most in-house delivery is onsite at the purchasing companys premises.
Arrangements can be made for off-site training at a range of facilities, although this can incur costs which have to be added to our normal charges for tuition and course materials.
