'' This 3 day workshop will teach you about the capabilities of servlets, their advantages over CGI, the Servlet architecture, JDBC, session management and security. You will learn about JSP syntax, deployment, and application models, how to use Java as a scripting language, and how to build robust and capable web applications using Servlets and JSPs.
Students will leave this course armed with the skills they require to understand server side Java, develop Servlets to process HTML forms and generate dynamic content, and understand and learn how to create JSPs. Developers will also learn to:
Make Servlets cooperate and share data
Store and Process Session Information
Deal with concurrency issues
Understand and create JSPs
Link servlets and JSPs
Use JDBC
Implement Security
Suitable for
Programmers or Software developers with little or no prior knowledge of the Java programming language.
IT managers and software architects who need to deploy web applications in the Java environment.
Prerequisites
Completion of Java Programming course or equivalent knowledge
Good knowledge of HTML and HTTP protocols and standards
Some programming or scripting experience
Delivery
This is a hands-on practical workshop based around the development of fully working Java services. Strong emphasis is laid on practical exercises and worked examples.
This course is now available once a month on a publicly scheduled basis (see below) and on a in-house basis for company groups. Most in-house delivery is onsite at the purchasing companys premises.
Arrangements can be made for off-site training at a range of facilities, although this can incur costs which have to be added to our normal charges for tuition and course materials.
