Course Description:
'' A 4 day Linux course with a strong practical slant, covering the use of Linux in the typical enterprise network environment. It covers basic and advanced TCI/IP networking, email services, Web serving with Apache, DNS name resolution, internet proxy services, firewalling and security administration, installation and day-to-day running of a Linux system. Like all of our Linux courses, its design and delivery draw heavily on our consultants¡¯ experience in implementing Linux based e-commerce solutions.
Course contents are based on objectives set for the Linux Professional Institute Exam 202, i.e. the network administration component of LPIC Level 2 certification.
Please note, however, that the primary purpose of this course is to produce professional quality network administrators. If tensions arise between the needs of certification and requirement of good practice, they will typically be resolved in favour of good practice.
Suitable for
System administration and Network support staff.
System administrators and Network administrators preparing for the LPI 202 certification exam, i.e. to become an LPI Linux certified network administrator
Prerequisites
All delegates are assumed to have experience in network and systems administration, although long experience with Unix/Linux is not an absolute requirement
Delegates preparing for the LPI 202 exam should have at least one of the following:
Completed our Unix and Linux Fundamentals Course
LPIC Level 1 Certification
Long professional experience with Unix/Linux administration

Extensive use of practical exercises is made during this Linux course. Delegates will leave the course with a real understanding of how to set up and run a Linux system in conjunction with typical multi-platform infrastructures.
