Course Description:
'' This course is a practical introduction to the use of the Unix operating system. This Unix course focuses on the underlying principles of Unix in a system-independent way, ensuring that delegates learn the core concepts, which apply throughout Unix and are present in all versions, no matter whom the vendor may be. At the end of the course delegates will be well-positioned to become serious users, developers and administrators of any Unix system and will fully understand the application of Unix in serious commercial and other environments.
Suitable for Experienced software and system professionals who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of the use and application of Unix. Non-programmers or casual users will find the level of technical detail daunting and are advised to attend a more user-oriented Unix course.
Delivery The course is practical in nature, making extensive use of hands-on exercise sessions. The particular version of Unix used will vary depending on the location. For convenience we will often use Unix on PC hardware but alternative arrangements can easily be made; the course is version-independent.
This Unix course can be run as both in-house training for company groups and and as a scheduled public course for individuals.
