'' This XML seminar provides an introductory overview of XML, its structure and its applications. The primary focus of discussion is the practical implementation of XML in real businesses, so it concentrates on providing a simple explanation of what XML is, how it can be used in data interchange and how it can be used to deliver web services.

The current course devotes most of the day to understanding XML terms, concepts and components, etc., and to understanding how these are applied in ¡®web services¡¯, i.e., the technical understanding which is a pre-requisite for informed business decisions.

Please Note Earlier versions of this course allocated almost half of the day discussion of pure business issues and case studies. The requirement for more time in which to develop a proper understanding of the key technical concepts, and addition of material on XML databases, means that the case studies are covered in less detail.

Suitable For
IT professionals seeking to understand the potential benefits of XML and the practical problems of implementing XML in the commercial environment.
Technical managers wishing to evaluate or implement XML.

Requirements
Basic Internet and computer literacy.
Familiarity with electronic and manual document processing is a definite advantage, as is knowledge of the Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML).
Delivery
This course, like all of our XML training, is currently delivered as an instructor-led seminar for both in-house company groups and individuals on public courses. Unlike our XML courses for programmers, its emphasis is on discovery, discussion and evaluation of the technologies and concepts involved rather than on practical/craft skills.
