'' This class is a general introduction for youth aged 8-11 and 12-15 to the sport of rock climbing in a top roping situation. Its schedule is for those with no experience in climbing, yet can be challenging and fun for those with previous climbing experience. * New this summer: Afternoon classes for ages 8-11. We spend the first day on the Cal Adventures climbing wall learning the basics of climbing safely. The remaining four days are at climbing sites in the Berkeley Hills improving climbing techniques and learning how to rappel. We have an excellent student to staff ratio to ensure safety and a good learning environment.
See detailed list on confirmation letter about what clothes the participant should bring and wear. If you have your own shoes or harness, you can bring it.
Vans will shuttle the group from the UCAC to the rock sites.
Students should bring a water bottle and a light lunch or snack from Monday thru Thursday. Early in the week we will plan a potluck lunch for Friday. Everyone will be assigned an item to bring to share with the group. The potluck will occur at one of the climbing sites so please bring items that do not require cooking or refrigeration, parents are welcome.
