Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' The Introduction to Sailing course is designed to introduce 10 to 14 year olds to the basics of sailing. Our five day schedule uses Coronado 15 sail boats that have both a main sail and a jib sail, yet are small enough at 15 feet for children to sail successfully. Students sail with two to four kids per boat under the close supervision of the instructor. We require that the students be able to swim.

At the completion of the class, students will have a working knowledge of sailing and will be qualified to take our Youth Intermediate Sailing class.

Intermediate Sailing is a five day class designed for 10 to 14 year olds who have completed our basic sailing class, and are ready to be introduced to sailing in the stronger afternoon winds. Intermediate sailors will learn new techniques for sailing fast and efficiently while refining their skippering skills.

The Advanced Sailing course, for 12 to 17 year olds, is designed to refine participants’ skills sailing in the afternoon winds. The five day schedule uses our 15 foot, JY 15 sail boats which provide sailing excitement and require a higher level of skill to maneuver. Students sail with two to four kids per boat under the close supervision of the instructor. We require the successful completion of our Intermediate Sailing course as a prerequisite to this course.

Fall racing series, for students who have completed the advanced sailing course in 2006. We are very excited to be offering this course again this Fall. In 2004 the pilot program was a huge success and we look forward to continuing this course. Please ask the youth program director about fall courses.
