Course Description:

'' These medical emergency training courses are important for everyone who likes to experience the great outdoors. Whether you are in an urban area or in a remote wilderness, these emergency medical treatment skills could save not only others’ lives but your own as well. Our courses are taught by our highly trained Cal Adventures staff and other professionals.

Wilderness First Responder: This 80 hour intensive course is taught by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS. It prepares the outdoor professional/enthusiast to deal with medical emergencies when 911 is over an hour away. At least 2 days go until 10:00PM. Ages 16 and up.

Wilderness First Responder Recertification Only: This 3 day course is taught by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS. It serves to re-certify Wilderness First Responders who have recently expired. Ages 16 and up.

Wilderness First Aid and WFR Recertification: This 2.5 day overview course is taught by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS. It serves to prepare the outdoor professional/enthusiast to effectively manage medical emergencies when 911 is over an hour away. Friday Sessions go from 6PM-10PM. May be used as a Re-certification for Wilderness First Responder. Ages 16 and up.

Focusing on the importance of patient assessment, treatment, and scene management, Wilderness First Aid and WFR Recertification will set you up to be a confident and directive rescuer.

and other environmental emergencies
This course can be used as a recertification for Wilderness First Responder obtainee through NOLS, WMI, WMA, SOLO, or Prescott College and includes a certificate in Adult CPR.
