'' This Phoenix accredited professional training course is the entry level of Teacher Training in TESOL.
Step Into Teaching is recognised by Phoenix for employment within the Phoenix group, locally and especially suited for overseas posts. Step Into Teaching is the minimum qualification required for Phoenix overseas placements.
This course is designed as a "starter kit" for new teachers and aims to prepare students for the classroom at the completion of the course.
The course can be upgraded to a Certificate IV in TESOL by studying for an extra four weeks.
Core units: o Basic Grammar
o Development of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills
o Language Teaching Materials
o Lesson Planning
o Presentation of New Language
o Pronunciation
o Practice Teaching and Observation
Pre-requisites: Pre-course grammar assessment task. Should the applicant fail this pre-test then a bridging eight hour Grammar Unit will have to be undertaken in addition to the above units. All of these units are transferable and accredited for advanced standing towards the Certificate IV in TESOL.
