The jCert Initiative was designed to provide a ready supply of trained developers for enterprise applications and the rapidly expanding e-commerce market. It is a multi-vendor JavaTM technology training and certification initiative, incorporated in 1999 by leading information technology companies: BEA Systems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Sybase. It does not matter from which jCert company you take the test; Sun Microsystems will issue your Sun Programmer level certificate.
Candidates in TechSkills Java-SCJP Program are required to pass one (1) vendor exam to achieve certification.
