Westwood College’s Interior Design degree program instructs students in aspects of the technical, creative and human factors of interior design. Students will build on a foundation of drawing, drafting, color, and basic design principles while learning about human factors, space planning, interior construction and detailing, safety and building codes, and computer-aided design (CAD). In addition, the Interior Design degree program includes a historical perspective of human environments, interior design business practices, collaboration techniques for working with related professionals, and professional responsibilities and ethics for personal practice.
Westwood College’s Interior Design Program is aimed at creative, imaginative individuals who have the ability to visualize design concepts and use deductive reasoning to assess problems and create solutions. A good interior decorator is one who listens, is self-motivated, and can work independently. The ideal candidate for success is able to communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing, so a comprehensive interior design program is vital.
